Sangla valley
Location: Kinnaur, Himachal pradesh
Sangla, situated on the Hindustan-Tibet trade route, is also called "Pass of Light". Sang means Light and La means Mountain Pass in Tibetan. Tucked away in a remote corner, Sangla has preserved its pristine beauty and unspoilt nature. The locals - "Kinners" - are rightly called the halfway between Men and Gods. In my opinion, a better location than Kashmir and thankfully less crowded.

Karwar Bay
Location: Karwar, Karnataka

Karwar, the port town on the banks of the Kali Nadi river is an Excellent Beach resort with beautiful palm fringed beaches. Once an important trade centre especially for pepper. The charming town is complimented by glorious weather and the area is very picturesque with hills and valleys of the Western Ghats covered with dense tropical jungle on the way to Hubli.

Nishi Tribal
Location: Lumdung, Arunachal Pradesh

The Nishi tribals have a unique headdress that they make by themselves out of bamboo. A Hornbill beak takes pride of place on the headdress. Although the practice of wearing their traditional costumes has waned among the newer generations, the village elders still uphold the tradition proudly.

Golden Langur
Location: Umananda Island, Guwahati

One of the most beautiful monkeys, the Golden Langur is a highly endangered species found in the North-East parts of India. Inspite of their endangered status, the langurs were roaming freely about the island, feeding on scraps given by curious visitors.

The mighty Siang thunders alongside and the abundant rain mean that crops such as paddy are easily grown. To prevent erosion, terrace farming is practised.

Anchor
Location: Pasighat, Assam

The Brahmaputra has many ferries running along its length. The waters seem calm but are rushing through at a rapid pace. One of the most enjoyable moments on the OCR ride was the ride on the ferry from Pasighat to Dibrugarh
